DAY 1:
Arrive Keflavik airport & Reykjavik is only a short drive from the airport and a good place to start your journey. Later Proceed to Check In Hotel If time permits we proceed for Short Orientation Tour of Reykjavik. The capital is hip, eclectic and trendy, with friendly pubs, clubs and cozy restaurants in the downtown area. The area is rich in historical landmarks and museums. The most famous landmark of the city is the Hallgrimskirkja Church. We visit the top tower of Church by lift where we get breath taking view of the entire city. Overnight in Reykjavik.
DAY 2: REYKJAVIK - HUSAFELL (Full Day Excursion of “Into the Glacier Tour”)
Check out and after breakfast this morning - we begin our journey towards North of Iceland.
During the journey we enjoy charming views and scenery. Our first stop is at a small village called Reykholt where we visit a small church. Next stop is to a most picturesque waterfall “Hraunfossar &Barnafoss”. Here we have a 10 min walking trail. Later we continue to get Up close and personal on a glacier - the best way to experience Iceland! On this tour along you will drive in SuperJeep to the Langjokull Glacier and visit a man made cave inside the Glacier to see what the world beneath the Glacier is like. The walking tour inside the Glacier is of an hour and the to and fro journey in SuperJeep is of 30 mins each way. Total duration of 2.5 hours from Klaki base camp which is the start and end point of this tour. This is truly a once in a life time experience which you might not encounter anywhere else in your life. Overnight in Husafell / Reykholt.
DAY 3: HUSAFELL - AKUREYRI (City tour of Akureyri&Dalvik shore visit)
After breakfast at Hotel, checkout and proceed towards the North east side of the country towards Akureyri – the Capital of the North. Enjoy a short orientation tour of the town and free time for shopping. Late afternoon we visit the Dalvik shore – where you proceed for a whale watching boat tour. Evening check in at hotel. Overnight in Akureyri.
DAY 4: AKUREYRI - GODAFOSS - LAKE MYVATN - DETTIFOSS - AKUREYRI
Breakfast at Hotel. We start with Godafoss waterfalls – one of the most stunning waterfalls of Iceland, followed by visit to Lake Myvatn. Continue to Dettifoss and arrive back towards Akureyri. Overnight in same hotel.
DAY 5: AKUREYRI - VIK (Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, Skaftatell National Park walking trail)
Today after check out we take a small internal flight towards Skafatell National park. Today we will visit two of the most beautifulplaces in Iceland; Skaftafell National Park and Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. We start with a drive across the Mýrdalssandur plains and the vast Eldhraun lava field to Kirkjubaejarklaustur, a small village located in a charming setting. Then we drive across the black sand plain Skeiðarársandur before arriving in Skaftafell. Skaftafell National Park is a magnificent area. The birch forest is like an oasis surrounded by the enormous tongues of the Vatnajökull glacier and the sands of Skeiðarárasandur. Here you can choose between many different hiking trails through the park and visit beautiful waterfalls like Svartifoss (approx. 1 ½ hour hike – 4 km roundtrip).
Next we continue east in order to reach the glacier lagoon Jokulsarlon, one of the most spectacular sights in Iceland. Enormous icebergs constantly break off the glacier into the lagoon, melting slowly as they drift towards the sea nearby. Here we will take a 40 min. amphibian boat tour (included in price) and walk around the lagoon to enjoy this amazing landscape. Later drive back towards Vik area.
DAY 6: VIK (Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Black sand Beach)
Today After Breakfast we explore Iceland’s magnificent south coast with its beautiful waterfalls, fabulous black sand beaches and views of majestic glaciers. Today we cover the Dilwale movie’s Gerua Song - shooting locations. First stop at... Seljalandsfoss Waterfall – followed by Skogafoss, followed by black sand beaches. You will drive past Iceland's famous black basalt beaches. Overnight in Vik area.
DAY 7: VIK - REYKJAVIK (Blue Lagoon & Half day free)
In the morning we begin drive back towards Reykjavik (approx. 3 ½ hour drive). Arrive and check in at hotel. Afternoon free for leisure to roam the streets of the capital city for some shopping. Evening we proceed towards the famous Blue Lagoon as per the time we get the reservation. The Blue Lagoon is a unique sight where guests enjoy relaxing in warm geothermal water surrounded by magical black lava fields. The Blue Lagoon’s warm water and natural active ingredients; mineral salts, silica and blue green algae, help you relax and escape the stress and strain of daily life (entrance & towel rental included).
DAY 8: REYKJAVIK (Golden circle route - Approx 8 hours)
Breakfast at Hotel. Later we proceed for Tour of Golden Circle Including... Þingvellir National Park is a short trip from Reykjavik, thus slowly easing you into your journey. The park is a place of great beauty located on the biggest lake of Iceland where the Tactonic Plates of North America and EuroAsia continent drifts apart each year. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later continue the journey towards Geysir - home to the great Strokkur Geyser which erupts about every 8 minutes. It truly is a sight to behold. Followed by Geysir is the Gullfoss Waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfall in Europe. Evening return back to Reykjavik.
DAY 9: REYKJAVIK - ONWARDS JOURNEY
